A few times I've seen the commercial for purchasing a Blue Hippo computer. They're supposed to offer a friendly payment plan, and you don't even need to have a credit card! And because they care for you so much they'll toss in an uber crappy digital camera with an even worse printer copier scanner!! And how much for this great deal? Well take a look at this..
RAW DEAL! Worst computer deal in the history of scams. They are selling a $300 desktop computer for $2200. They are scamming the public by making it look like an easy payment plan. If the overall price wasn't bad enough, they don't even take on any risk, as they won't ship the computer until you've spent more than $600! Help expose this scam!
If you take the time to visit their site, they desktop comes with a REGULAR cdrom, yes, for 2200 you can't even watch a DVD on your machine. Not to mention you probably can't do much of anything with the 256Meg of ram it comes with. But if you think that is bad, take a look at the nice laptop they offer with 128Megs of ram!!! I had a computer 7 years ago with more ram than that.
I sure don't pity the fool who goes for this deal, credit or not!

"For many years now, human-caused climate change has been viewed as a large and urgent problem. In truth, however, the biggest part of the problem is neither environmental nor scientific, but a self-created political fiasco. Consider the simple fact, drawn from the official temperature records of the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia, that for the years 1998-2005 global average temperature did not increase (there was actually a slight decrease, though not at a rate that differs significantly from zero)."

another dull subject
This week was a bit busy. The trip to Ithaca was a very educational experience but unfortunately there wasn't anything that was worth seriously considering. Real estate tax is high, mortgage rates are high on "commercial" real estate when having renters, and unless 20% isn't put down mortgage insurance is required costing even more money. Oh well, the search still continues for that perfect house.
Still need to find a place here where MY money is getting wasted on rent anyway. For the short term it's so much more practical. It's so good to think soon rent will be a thing of the past. Start early to finish early
I've always wonder what it's like to be in an inner city school. In all reality my closest experiences are some glorified crap I've seen on TV. Well I was asked to be a chaperon for a 7th grade class to a history museum on park west. The school was larger than most, with high school and middle school combined together. They have a program where younger mothers, where students as young as 8th grade can bring their children while at school. High school students have to go through a seperate screening procedure than the middle school students. Everyone goes through a metal detector, but a majority of the high school students get frisked quickly before they get to enter.
It was funny to see how much candy they could consume before the field trip started. I wouldn't be surprised if every kid in the room had at least one type of candy. Some kids had up to 10 different types of candy stuffed in their pockets and some kids were drinking starbucks frappucinos. The tough part was observing which kids really cared about learning at all. You could tell many of the kids really had no interest in paying attention or giving any effort. And many of those who did care felt pressure to do less because of their friends. There were definately some stand out kids that no matter what gave their honest opinion and good answers to some questions that needed some good observations.
After seeing how they acted in the class room and the bus I was interested to see how they would do in the museum. Surprisingly they were pretty well behaved, only one student got in trouble for being a show off. Just one of those kids who needs a lot of attention. One of the most shocking thing was to find out one of the children from the other class had never been to Manhattan before! Just goes to show how underprivelleged
these kids are and how little of the world they get to see. Most if not all their vacations are taken to the south to see family.
